Highlights of the Speech of Sheikh Naeem Qassem, Secretary-General of Hezbollah

Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naeem Qassem stressed that the Lebanese resistance thwarted Israel’s plans in the “Awliya al-Ba’s” battle, preventing it from holding ground. He said Israel is now “paralyzed and afraid to establish positions on our land.”

Speaking on the Prophet’s birthday, Qassem noted Israel has long sought to dominate Lebanon, but the resistance sacrificed greatly, including the martyrdom of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashem Safi al-Din, to defend the nation.

He underlined that Lebanon’s crisis stems from corruption, neglect of the Taif Accord, and Israeli aggression. Reviving Lebanon, he said, requires three pillars: sovereignty through Israeli withdrawal and rejecting U.S.-Arab tutelage; restoring state institutions and reconstruction; and fighting corruption.

Qassem warned that U.S. policy aligns with Israel to strip Lebanon of its strength, stressing Washington is ready to hand Lebanon over. He said no settlement is possible without targeting Hezbollah’s arms, but Lebanon’s defense cannot be abandoned.

He condemned the Israeli attack on Qatar and the assassination attempt on Hamas leaders, calling it a U.S.-Israeli act within the “Greater Israel project.” He expressed solidarity with Qatar and questioned Arab states’ silence: “If resistance ends, what will you do against Israel?”

Finally, Qassem saluted Yemen for its steadfastness, affirmed Palestine as the central cause, and praised the “Ramot” operation in Jerusalem as proof of Palestinian will. He vowed the resistance will persist despite challenges.
