The usurping and class-based economic system has pushed humanity into poverty, says the Leader of the Shia Nation of Pakistan.

Islamabad – October 17, 2025:
The Leader of the Shia Nation of Pakistan, Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, said that “the usurping and class-based economic system has pushed humanity into the darkness of poverty.” He emphasized that the absence of economic justice has delivered the entire world into the hands of an unjust class structure — where the rich grow ever wealthier while the poor are deprived even of their daily bread due to lack of equal opportunities and worsening living conditions.

In his message on the occasion of the World Food Protection Day, Allama Naqvi stated that both socialism and capitalism have failed to provide true economic justice to humanity. This same global system of injustice, he added, has employed every means to strengthen the Zionist entity, and the current tragedy in Gaza stands as its most horrific manifestation. He said that after the bombardment of thousands of tons of explosives on Gaza, humanity is now being buried alive through new cruelties — such as restrictions on humanitarian aid and the creation of an artificial food crisis — despite the so-called peace agreement that has brought no real relief.

Allama Naqvi further stressed that the United Nations, as an institution ostensibly representing global consensus, should not limit itself to symbolic awareness days. Instead, it must take practical steps toward achieving economic and social justice across the world. He said the entire globe remains trapped in an oppressive economic order. Both socialism and capitalism, despite their appealing slogans, have failed to guarantee justice; rather, they have plunged humanity into an even more miserable condition than before.

He noted that according to the UN’s own statistics, more than 15% of the world’s population still struggles to find sufficient food — a consequence of this exploitative economic system and unjust governance model that dominates the planet.

Allama Naqvi affirmed that Islam provides a complete code of life, one that upholds equal rights, economic justice, and fair governance. He highlighted that the system of justice established by Imam Ali (A.S.) remains an eternal example of fairness and equity, serving as a guiding light for humanity in all ages.

Commenting on Pakistan’s economic situation, he noted that the World Food Day is being observed at a time when the nation is facing grave economic challenges — with the annual federal budget about to be presented while the country simultaneously struggles with climate change impacts. According to available data, around 20 million Pakistaniscurrently live below the poverty line. He criticized that national budgets have become little more than statistical exercises, failing to ease people’s hardships and, instead, worsening their economic struggles — a problem that must be urgently addressed.

Concluding his message, Allama Naqvi said that saving humanity from poverty and oppression can only be achieved by implementing a just economic system based on Islamic principles, one that ensures every human being’s right to a dignified and equitable life, free from exploitation and class domination.
