The Leader of the Shia Community in Pakistan Warns of Corruption Crisis and Denounces Gaza Atrocities

Statement Issued by the Leader of the Shia Community in Pakistan – 9 December 2025

The Leader of the Shia Community in Pakistan, Ayatollah Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, stated that Palestine has been bleeding since 1948; however, what Gaza has been facing since 7 October 2023 represents one of the most brutal forms of genocide that humanity has never witnessed before, amid the evident failure of the United Nations, the Security Council, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

He pointed out that the so-called peace agreements have been exposed as false following the new occupation expansions and imposed borders in Gaza, calling for a clear acknowledgment of the failure of the international community in the face of global arrogance and Zionism, and the blatant violations of human rights.

On the domestic front, he warned that corruption has spread through Pakistan’s state institutions like a termite infestation, stressing that the reports of the International Monetary Fund and Transparency International have revealed the depth of the crisis. He emphasized that eliminating corruption cannot be achieved through slogans, but rather through the establishment of a just system and genuine accountability.

He concluded by stressing that the continued international silence over the crimes of occupation in Palestine, and the failure to support the oppressed in Kashmir and other parts of the world, constitutes a stain of shame on the conscience of contemporary humanity.
