The Leader of the Shia in Pakistan, Ayatollah Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, stated that Pakistan is the sole center of hope for the oppressed people of Kashmir. He called for a practical solution to be introduced through consultation with Kashmiri leadership, national stakeholders, and all concerned parties. He emphasized that lasting peace in the region cannot be achieved until the Kashmir issue is resolved.
He expressed these views during meetings with various personalities on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day. He said that the Kashmiri people have long yearned for freedom; some continue to embrace martyrdom, while others face violations of dignity and are targeted with pellet guns. He remarked that every form of state oppression has been used against these oppressed people, yet the voices for freedom continue to rise from Kashmir.
He regretted that despite various steps taken by Pakistan, India continues its coercive measures. He stressed the need to develop an acceptable strategy to resolve the Kashmir issue, which is essential for sustainable peace in South Asia, so that the Kashmiri people may witness the dawn of freedom in their homeland.
He proposed that opinions and recommendations from experienced individuals among Kashmiri leadership, national groups, and stakeholders be compiled, carefully reviewed, and presented as a concrete action plan. Such steps would not only reassure the Kashmiri people but also move South Asia’s most significant issue toward a serious resolution.
He further stated that Pakistan has long been confronting terrorism and extremism. He expressed deep concern over the recent situation in Balochistan and sorrow over the martyrdom of both security personnel and civilians.
