The Leader of the Shia in Pakistan, Ayatollah Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, strongly condemned the suicide bombing that targeted Khadija al-Kubra Mosque and Imambargah in the Tarlai area of Islamabad, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives and the injuries sustained by civilians.
He demanded immediate and comprehensive medical assistance for the injured and called for a swift, transparent investigation to uncover the facts, ensure accountability, and bring all perpetrators, planners, and facilitators to justice without delay.
Ayatollah Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. He emphasized the urgent need to ensure the protection of citizens and places of worship, and to take firm and effective measures to eradicate terrorism and its networks.
He warned that hostile elements seek to undermine peace and stability in the country, stressing that national unity and collective resolve are essential to thwart all anti-state conspiracies. He added that an act of terrorism in the capital raises serious questions about security performance, necessitating a comprehensive review and immediate strengthening of preventive measures.
