Rawalpindi/Islamabad, January 3, 2026:
The Leader of the Shia Community of Pakistan, Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, in his message on the joyous and blessed occasion of the birth anniversary of Ameer-ul-Momineen Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (AS) (13th of Rajab al-Murajjab), stated that for those who believe in Allah Almighty and the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), this day of the sacred month of Rajab holds exceptional happiness and spiritual significance. This is because on this very day, the soul of the Prophet, Ameer-ul-Momineen Imam Ali (AS), was born inside the Holy Kaaba. This birth was not merely the birth of a great personality, but the birth of Imamate, leadership, and divine guidance.
He said that the special upbringing of Imam Ali (AS) was carried out directly by the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Imam Ali (AS) remained with the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) at every moment, the effects of which are clearly visible in his personality, character, and system of governance. The political and social aspects of Imam Ali’s (AS) life—particularly “Alid governance”—constitute a chapter that urgently requires deep study even today.
Allama Sajid Ali Naqvi stated that during times of crisis, Imam Ali (AS) governed with wisdom, justice, and insight, presenting a unique and comprehensive model of statecraft from which the world continues to benefit. In particular, his historic letter to Malik al-Ashtar stands as a timeless charter of governance that provides clear guidance regarding state administration, public rights, and the responsibilities of rulers—principles from which the Pakistani state should also practically benefit.
According to the Leader of the Shia Community, the system of justice established by Ameer-ul-Momineen Imam Ali (AS) distinguishes him from all other rulers of the world. Alid justice is still recognized globally as a practical model. Even his principles of governance and statecraft have been referenced in the Charter of the United Nations. On this very subject, the renowned Christian intellectual George Jordac authored the historic book titled “The Voice of Human Justice.”
He emphasized the essential importance of justice for societies, states, civilizations, nations, governments, and humanity, noting that justice became such an integral part of Imam Ali’s (AS) being that people came to recognize him through justice itself. The Leader of the Shia Community stressed that the blessed life of Imam Ali (AS) is a model for Muslims worldwide. He urged everyone to adopt his teachings, uphold patience, tolerance, steadfastness, and perseverance, and strive to establish the system he envisioned so that humanity may attain success and salvation.
He further stated that Muslims around the world, especially the Muslims of Pakistan, should celebrate the birth anniversary of the Imam (AS) with great reverence and dignity, and demonstrate unity and solidarity in light of the thoughts and sayings of the Kaaba-born Imam.
