The Leader of the Shia in Pakistan and Head of the Islamic Movement, Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, said on the occasion of the blessed birth anniversary of the grandson of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) and benefactor of humanity, Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), on the 3rd of Sha‘ban al-Mu‘azzam, that the birth anniversary of Hussain ibn Ali (peace be upon him) is a day of joy and happiness for all humanity. This is not merely the birth of a personality, but the birth of an ideology, a school of thought, and a movement; it is the birth of a guide, a leader, and an Imam for all humankind.
Allama Sajid Ali Naqvi further stated that the noble personality of the Imam (peace be upon him) embodies all virtuous qualities, and every aspect of his life is a source of guidance and growth for humanity. According to the Qur’anic declaration, he is the son of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family), and his blessed life is a reflection of the life of the Holy Prophet. A life that mirrors the Seerah of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) is entirely governed by divine commands in every action and step.
The love and attachment of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) to Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) is clearly evident in the Prophetic traditions. The Prophet declared, “Hussain is from me and I am from Hussain,” making it clear to humanity that the bond between these two personalities is deep and inseparable.
Therefore, studying the life and virtues of this pure personality, who was raised in the sacred household of Prophethood and Wilayah, and acting upon his teachings, provides guidance for reforming a sin-afflicted society through Islamic values and the spirit of freedom.
He emphasized that the Muslim Ummah should adopt the divine, universal, and revolutionary character of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) as a guiding light to resolve the problems of the Muslim world, oppose tyrannical and oppressive forces, and remain steadfast upon principles and beliefs without compromise.
