Rawalpindi/Islamabad, September 20, 2025: Leader of Millat-e-Jafaria Pakistan, Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, said: “On one side is the International Day of Peace, and on the other is the destruction of Gaza — this is the double standard of the world. Peace will not be achieved through mere statements or dedicating days; for peace to be established, the hand of the oppressor must be stopped and the hand of the oppressed must be held. To dream of peace without resolving the issues of Palestine and Kashmir is like chasing an illusion. Until the occupied and oppressed peoples are given their fundamental rights, such days will remain nothing but hollow slogans.”
Expressing these views in his statement on the International Day of Peace, Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi said: “Since 1952, the United Nations has been observing this day with the same emphasis, and even rings a commemorative bell two weeks before, considered an alarm towards peace. Yet, the UN has failed to go beyond resolutions on Gaza, Sudan, Congo, Haiti, Myanmar, and Yemen. Merely dedicating a day cannot establish peace in the world. This Day of Peace arrives at a time when the UN General Assembly session is about to take place, but the fact that the Kashmir issue in South Asia and the Palestine issue in the Middle East remain unresolved even after decades raises a big question mark on its performance. Wars only create more problems, give birth to humanitarian crises, and the use of force has butchered humanity under the deceptive slogan of peace. Sadly, after new tricks, excuses, and conspiracies, yet another plan is being implemented to pave the way for Israel, which must be stopped.”
He further said: “Until basic rights are given to oppressed people at the global, state, and societal level, and as long as occupying states like India and Israel continue to inflict atrocities on oppressed Kashmiris and Palestinians, how can lasting peace be established? As long as the UN acts as a servant to powerful nations and, apart from condemnation and declaring days, takes no practical steps, peace will remain only a dream. Commenting on the Pakistan–Saudi Arabia defense pact, he said that the results of this agreement must be seen not only in the sustainable development and defense of both countries but also in the unity of the Muslim Ummah, particularly in ending the calamities being inflicted upon oppressed Palestinians. The foremost priorities of both countries must be the issues of Palestine and Kashmir, as these are among the most critical issues facing the Muslim Ummah. With the expectations of the oppressed people of Gaza now dying in the face of Israeli atrocities, these two strongest Muslim states must play an active and practical role.”
