Islamabad: Speech of the Leader of the Shia Community of Pakistan on the First Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
The Leader of the Shia Community of Pakistan, Allama Sayyed Sajid Ali Naqvi, delivered a presidential address at the conference held at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Islamabad, marking the first anniversary of the martyrdom of the Secretary General of Hezbollah Lebanon, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
He stated that the martyrdom of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah is an irreparable loss for the Muslim Ummah, as he devoted every moment of his life to the elevation of Islam, the defense of the oppressed, and the struggle against tyranny and arrogance.
Quoting the will of our Master, the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (peace be upon him): “Be an enemy to the oppressor and a helper to the oppressed”, he emphasized that this provides us with clear guidance in life: to stand firmly against the oppressor and to support the oppressed. This, he noted, is the essence of true faith and the voice of a living conscience. It is not merely an act, but a philosophy, an ideology, and a belief that does not change with circumstances. The methods may vary, but its foundation remains constant.
He further explained that resistance means adopting wise strategies in accordance with the demands of the circumstances while remaining steadfast on goals and principles. At times we may need to retreat, change the path, or take a harsher approach, but the essence remains one: resistance must continue. This, he said, is both a demand of human nature and a principle of our faith.
Allama Naqvi stressed that whether it be the martyrs of the Sacred Defense or the martyrs of Palestine, all chose the path of resistance, and the martyred leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah too walked this very path. Therefore, we must hold firmly to this ideology, strengthen it, and advance it in line with contemporary challenges and circumstances. By the grace of Allah, this resistance will ultimately bear fruit in victory, and together we will offer prayers in Al-Aqsa Mosque. This is the path that accords with human nature.
On this occasion, he also described the unveiling of the book “Maktab Nasrallah” as an important effort to spread the thought and philosophy of the martyr, expressing his belief that it will serve as a source of guidance for the new generation.
The conference witnessed the participation of prominent scholars, leaders of various schools of thought, researchers, and social figures. Among them were the Central Vice President Allama Arif Hussain Wahidi, the renowned scholar Allama Sayyed Iftikhar Hussain Naqvi, along with other distinguished personalities who shed light on the ideas, struggle, and legacy of the martyr.
