The Leader of the Jafaria Community of Pakistan, Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, said on the occasion of the 21st martyrdom anniversary of the distinguished, renowned, and active religious and social figure, Shaheed Allama Syed Ziauddin Rizvi, that the region of Gilgit-Baltistan holds a unique position in many respects. However, its most credible and authentic distinction lies in the deep attachment of its aware and patriotic people to religion and knowledge, and their strong devotion to scholars and intellectual circles—something that makes the national struggle and efforts of Allama Syed Ziauddin Rizvi impossible to forget.
He stated that although Shaheed Ziauddin Rizvi played a clear, effective, and dynamic role in addressing the challenges faced by the region, his tireless struggle for the social, educational, and political rights of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan continues to serve as a guiding light even today.
The Leader of the Jafaria Community emphasized that advancing the struggle for the constitutional rights of Gilgit-Baltistan through the Milli Platform was the core mission of Shaheed Agha Ziauddin Rizvi, because this platform has had the distinction of raising its voice for the constitutional rights of deprived and marginalized areas since its very beginning.
He said that determining the constitutional status of Gilgit-Baltistan and ending the deprivation and backwardness of its people has always remained at the top of the agenda of every major meeting and gathering of the movement. As a result of this continuous struggle, governments were compelled to listen, and some progress was made in terms of development, although much more struggle is still necessary to achieve full rights.
Allama Sajid Ali Naqvi also stressed that the positive and far-sighted efforts of Shaheed Allama Syed Ziauddin Rizvi regarding the sensitive and important issue of educational curricula in Gilgit-Baltistan will always be remembered, and this struggle will continue with full strength in the future.
In conclusion, he paid tribute to the national, religious, and social services of Shaheed Rizvi, prayed for the elevation of his ranks, and urged people to draw lessons from his life.
