Leader of the Shia Muslims in Pakistan, Ayatollah Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, participated in a scholarly and intellectual gathering held at Jamia Al-Kauthar in Islamabad, attended by Allama Syed Ahmad Al-Ashkouri, a distinguished scholar of Najaf Ashraf and professor of advanced Islamic studies, along with senior scholars, preachers, religious school teachers, and other academic and religious figures.
Ayatollah Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi also held a special meeting with Allama Syed Ahmad Al-Ashkouri, during which they discussed a number of scholarly, intellectual, and religious outreach issues, as well as ways to strengthen communication and cooperation between religious scholars and institutions in Pakistan and the Hawza Ilmiyya of Najaf Ashraf.
The gathering began with a recitation by international reciter Syed Wajahat Raza. Sheikh Anwar Ali Najafi, Director of Jamia Al-Kauthar and representative of the highest religious authority in Pakistan, welcomed the distinguished guest and his accompanying delegation. He emphasized the importance of strengthening communication between religious institutions in Pakistan and the Hawza Ilmiyya of Najaf Ashraf and further developing scholarly and religious outreach activities.
In his address, Allama Syed Ahmad Al-Ashkouri discussed the key foundations of the strength of the school of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), focusing on three main areas: reason and evidence, knowledge and wisdom, and a balanced understanding of the human being.
He also highlighted the responsibility of religious scholars and preachers to provide intellectual, educational, and moral guidance to society, strengthen religious outreach, and address the intellectual and cultural challenges of the modern era.
Allama Al-Ashkouri also praised the scholarly, religious, and educational services rendered in Pakistan by Ayatollah Sheikh Mohsin Ali Najafi, may Allah have mercy upon him, emphasizing that his contributions and efforts represent a lasting scholarly and educational legacy.
The gathering featured scholarly and intellectual discussions on a number of religious and outreach-related issues, as well as ways to strengthen cooperation and communication between Pakistani scholars and the Hawza Ilmiyya of Najaf Ashraf.
The gathering concluded with an address by Leader of the Shia Muslims in Pakistan, Ayatollah Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, who prayed for the success and prosperity of all those in attendance and emphasized the importance of continuing scholarly, intellectual, and religious outreach efforts and strengthening cooperation among scholars and religious institutions.
