Ayatollah Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi: The Blood of Gaza’s Oppressed Has Become a Symbol of Strength, and the Palestinian Cause Now Stands Before the Entire World

Rawalpindi/Islamabad – October 7, 2026

Ayatollah Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, Leader of the Shia Muslims in Pakistan, said that the blood of the oppressed people of Gaza has today become a symbol of strength, and that the United Nations, despite its reluctance, can no longer remain silent. He added that satellite images of Gaza have become among the clearest evidence of the catastrophic destruction caused by the aggression of hegemonic powers and the occupying Zionist entity.

He said that a century ago, colonialism planted a bloody seed and nurtured it until it grew into a tree of oppression and terrorism. Yet, even after a century, the oppressed Palestinian people continue their struggle for their fundamental, human and legal rights. He stressed that the blood of the oppressed people of Gaza is now bearing fruit, as the Palestinian cause has not only drawn the attention of the world, but people across the globe are now condemning Israel and expressing, in their own ways, solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people.

Ayatollah Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi said that the scale of oppression and violence inflicted upon the Palestinian people, particularly the people of Gaza, by the occupying and terrorist state over the past three years is rarely matched in the history of the world. However, he emphasized that it is the blood of these oppressed people that is now bearing fruit, while their sacrifices are increasingly being documented and brought before the world—at times through satellite imagery, at times through reports by human rights organizations, and at other times through United Nations investigations.

He added that this global solidarity is also reflected in public demonstrations spanning hundreds of miles across different parts of the world, as well as in initiatives such as the Sumud Flotilla, in which people of different races, religions and sects have responded to the call of the oppressed without discrimination. He also highlighted the strong support provided by resistance movements, along with extensive backing from various political parties, organizations and forums.

Ayatollah Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi noted that the land of Palestine has been subjected to various conspiracies, declarations and purported agreements for more than a century. He said that this chain of conspiracies began with the Balfour Declaration of 1917, issued by Arthur James Balfour, the former British Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary, and continued until the establishment of Israel on May 14, 1948, as what he described as an illegitimate, occupying and terrorist state. Numerous other purported agreements subsequently emerged, leading eventually to the Abraham Accords and what he described as a colonial declaration, which he characterized as a continuation of the Balfour Declaration.

He stressed that the matter is clear and unequivocal: the future of Palestine will not be decided by anyone else; it will be decided by the Palestinian people themselves through their representative organizations, parties and allies.

In conclusion, Ayatollah Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi expressed his special sympathy for the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of Palestine and Al-Quds, as well as for the displaced and all those affected by the war. He called for continued moral, political and diplomatic support for the Palestinian people in their struggle for their fundamental, legal and human rights.
